Why I banned my family from chewing regular gum....

Most of the chewing gum today is made from using a gum base (a mixture of polymers, plasticisers and resins) with food-grade softeners, preservatives, sweetness, colours and flavourings.

The polymers and plasticisers are synthetic plastic which does not biodegrade.

Basically you are chewing non-biodegradable plastic...

Once thrown away, depending on conditions, it could take 100s of years for your piece of gum to decompose.

What can you do? 🤷🏽‍♀️

If you really need to chew gum then switch to a more natural and environmentally friendly option. I stock ‘Chewsy’ gum. This is a plastic-free, plant-based gum. It is also vegan, biodegradable plus natural and sugar-free.

I stock 3 different flavours; peppermint, cinnamon and lemon at £1.40 each.
